Toddlers are growing more inquisitive about the world around them, so at Kangaroo Kids we provide the stimulation they need in a friendly and safe environment. They need time to ponder the flight of a butterfly or test their fine motor skills as they scribble their artwork made special for Mom. They need a safe place to test their growing independence as they climb, dance, and explore the wonders of the world around them. Positive role models are important for toddlers as their pretend play often imitates those around them. Teachers guide children in appropriate emotional and social behaviors and role model kindness and a sense of responsibility. Toddlers are striving to be self-reliant and they count on the understanding and attentiveness of the adults in their lives. At Kangaroo Kids we help children face the challenges they will encounter by helping them be safe, guiding them in how to appropriately express their emotions and feelings, and how to get what they need without taking it away from others. They love their little responsibilities of helping teachers put away the toys or pass out the snacks and these skills are the beginning development of personal responsibility and feelings of worthiness about self. Children do basic math skills as they count, fill and dump, and sort objects into big and small piles. They love reading and many even pretend to read to their teachers and stories are an everyday adventure at Kangaroo Kids. We also encourage critical thinking and science skills as they contemplate the fragility of a bubble or create a beautiful block structure. They also have opportunities to make choices, practice sharing and getting along with others. | ||||||
