6/4- National Headache Awareness Week: Experience frequent headaches, brain fog and fatigue? Perhaps you are dehydrated! On National Hydration Day learn how you can stay hydrated. 6/4 National Running Day! Get pumped and get those legs moving as the first Wednesday in June is Global Running Day June 7th, this year. Whether you are a regular runner or a bit of a novice, it does not matter, this holiday is about inspiring each other to lead a more active lifestyle, no matter the distance covered. This celebration is open and free to everyone. Simply grab your running shoes, a bottle of water, and get your legs moving! The benefits to running are helping to build strong bones, as it is a weight bearing exercise. It also strengthens muscles, improves cardiovascular fitness, burns plenty of kilojoules, and helps maintain a healthy weight.

6/6 The first Drive in Movie Theater opened in Camden in 1933. While the Drive-In Movie concept exploded in the 1950’s, by the 1990’s over 3000 Drive-In’s had closed. There is only 1 remaining left in NJ. The Delsea Drive-In was built in 1949, closed in 1987, and reopened in 2004. Located in Vineland, New Jersey Delsea Drive-In Theatre are the only drive-in theaters in New Jersey. Have some fun with some Popping Science Experiments with Popcorn! 6/7 National Chocolate Ice Cream Day: It might seem odd to have a day for one flavor of ice cream, but chocolate ice cream was one of the earliest variations, pre-dating the more common vanilla. The earliest frozen chocolate recipes were published in Naples, Italy in 1693 in Antonio Latini’s The Modern Steward. Chocolate was one of the first ice cream flavors, created before vanilla, as common drinks such as hot chocolate, coffee, and tea were the first food items to be turned into frozen desserts.
6/7- Celebrated on the 1st of Saturday in June, National Trails Day recognizes the benefits of going for a walk-in nature. 6/12 Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s Superman and today we celebrate the fictional Man of Steel. Did you know that the Red White and Blue of his uniform stands for a desire for Justice, to help those in need & a powerful spirit! Do you like to help people? You too can be a superhero just by being a positive helper! What superpower do you possess? Here are several fun superhero-activities-for-kids.
6/14 Flag Day! Have some fun with this fun filled flag day activities. On June 14th, National Flag Day honors Old Glory and commemorates the adoption of the United States flag on June 14, 1777. The holiday is a day that Americans show respect for the U.S. Flag and what it represents. Representing independence and unity, the Star-Spangled Banner has become a powerful symbol of Americanism and the flag is flown proudly.
6/15- The third Sunday in June is reserved for Father’s Day! Did you know that Father’s Day began in 1910 but did not become a proclamation until 1972! Whether grilling or attending a sporting event with your father, he will be glad to have you near!!
