Kangaroo Kids children learn about the importance of proper behavior and how to safely get on and off a bus with Assistant Director Shaun Pidany.  Bus safety is important as shorter daylight hours can create more hazards.   Parents should make sure children have a safe place to wait for their bus, away from traffic and instruct their children to stay away from the bus until it comes to a complete stop and the driver signals you to enter.

According to SafeKids.org, “If your child needs to cross the street after exiting the bus, he or she should take five giant steps in front of the bus, make eye contact with the bus driver and cross when the driver indicates it’s safe. Teach kids to look left, right and left again before crossing the street.”

Children at Kangaroo Kids also learned about the importance of being on their best behavior on the bus and reporting any problems to the bus driver when they stop. They practice buckling their seat belts and learned about emergency escape routes from the bus.
