Giving Tree keeps on giving even through Covid at Kangaroo Kids!  Typically, around this time of year you would see a large Giving Tree in the front windows of the school covered in names of young children hoping for holiday cheer. While Kangaroo Kids is unable to welcome you into the building to choose the name of a child due to Covid, they are still committed to helping bring the joy of the Holiday Season to these families.

Kangaroo Kids has set up a way for you to select a child you would like to support. The names of the children living in the rural mountains of West Virginia will be listed at   https://bit.ly/3eWHh4D.  Just go to the link and select a child, then purchase a gift.  All gifts can be dropped off at Kangaroo Kids Drive By Winter Wonderland on December 4th between 5:00 and 6:30 or at the school any time prior to December 7th.   Enjoy Kangaroo Kids beautiful Winter Wonderland Drive by display as you drop off a gift for children in need to brighten their holidays!  Please write the name of the child in black sharpie on a well taped tag and wrap tightly in holiday paper.  Please no gift bags at will increase shipping costs. Donations will also be accepted to help with shipping costs.  Enjoy Kangaroo Kids beautiful Winter Wonderland display as you drop off a gift for a needy child.

“This project has a special place in my heart as I have travelled to this area many times to work on and repair homes for families of the region over the past 23 years. I can tell you the first thing I felt was shock when I saw that people living a short 12-hour drive from my front door were living in such poverty. The second thing I felt was an overwhelming sense of love and gratitude. These families are part of a warm and most welcoming community. While the opportunities for good paying jobs or the chances to move from the region are almost non-existent; these families continue to work and provide the best they can for their families, “ according to Melissa Reilley-Grecco,   the event coordinator and the lead kindergarten teacher and curriculum coordinator at Kangaroo Kids.

This project is done in conjunction with Immaculata High School and various other agencies throughout our area. This year Immaculata will arrange to have all the gifts shipped to West Virginia in time for a Holiday party for 70+ underprivileged children and their families. If your family is able and willing to select a name from the list and purchase an item or two listed, “ I assure you that it will be most appreciated and will have an enormous impact on the lives of these families during the holiday season.” According to Miss Melissa.
